Loose and Lively Mandala

I did not link up with Paint Party Friday last week. I had a post prepared, but then I completely forgot what day of the week it was. It was around 6pm when I realized it was Friday, so I decided not to bother.

Anyway, last weekend the BBC aired several programs celebrating the Glastonbury festival. I have been to the event twice, 1984 and 1997. Among the many great artists I saw were Elvis Costello, Joan Baez, The Smiths, Radiohead and The Prodigy. Maybe when things get back to ‘normal’, I will make another visit.

The festival is always a blast of colour, so I decided to post a loose and lively mandala this week. I started with the outline, laid down the colour with Indian ink pens and finished it by adding some metallic highlights.

Stay safe, everyone.

  1. Wonderful mandala. Glastonbury festival is something I still dream of, I went there regularly when I was living in England, it was always a great experience! Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

  2. Hi John 🙂 Your mandala is so gorgeous, I love your talent for detail and bright colouring! I’d love to see Elvis Costello but I think my concert days are over! 🙂
