Simple Shapes, Blocks of Colour and Lines

I went on a shopping trip to my local art store this week. It was great seeing all the neatly stacked shelves, and I do prefer touching things and getting a feel for them before spending any money.

While I was at the store, I bought some 7” x 5” canvas boards. They come with two coats of gesso already applied, and I found them great to work with.  I decided to experiment with simple shapes, blocks of colour and lines. I am pretty happy with the result, though the sunset is my favourite.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Stay safe.

  1. Those are beautiful John 🙂 I love all of them, but the third one is my favourite. I love the design. I can’t wait to get to an art supply store in person! I may venture in July! 🙂

    • Thank you. It was great being in the store. Just to see the packed shelves was a treat, but being able to handle things before buying them was a joy. I think we took things for granted a little too much pre pandemic.
